In the Loop 2012
Details are being finalized for our upcoming In the Loop! This will be our third bi-annual event for youth in care, ages 15-19, to explore post-secondary and career options. This year the event will be spread over 2 days, June 13th & 14th, to provide an overnight campus experience for youth at the beautiful St. FX University in Antigonish.
We are looking for exhibitors for our Education & Career Fair on Thursday, June 14th. This is an excellent networking/recruitment opportunity. In the Loop brings together:
- youth in our province's care
- service providers working within child welfare agencies
- community based organizations and allied agencies involved in service delivery to children and youth in care
- care givers, foster parents, and/or family members
- administrators and policy advisors
- service providers from other government departments including justice, education, and health who are engaged in service delivery for youth in care
Youth attending In the Loop will connect to numerous educational and career opportunities. Workshops on writing a résumé, being interviewed, finding a place to live, transitioning to independent living, budgeting money, completing a university or college application, and more will be available plus loads of opportunity for fun activities on campus!
