Award of Merit
Award to Recognize Outstanding Board Members of Member Agencies and Organizations
Established in 1996, the Award of Merit recognizes the special efforts of board members who have provided outstanding contributions to their member agencies/organizations.
Criteria
As volunteers, the recipients of the Award have:
- provided vision or guidance
- faced tough times with success and positive problem solving
- pitched in to get a job done
- participated in special project work
- provided several years of board service
Nomination
On an annual basis, member agencies/organizations are invited to identify a board member who has made an outstanding contribution to their agency/organization. These selected board members are recognized as a group at our Awards Banquet and presented with certificates. In addition, a presentation may be made in the community of the recipient at an AGM or other event for public relations/public education. This helps us all highlight the critical role board members play in the provision of services for children and families.
All nominees are honoured. There is no selection process by the Council.
