Judge T.D. Tramble Award of Distinction
Judge Dan Tramble was a Family Court Judge who worked in Northern Nova Scotia. This Award was named in his honour in the hope that it would further those admirable qualities he exemplified: courage, commitment to and hope for effective family functioning, conviction, compassion, care and concern. Judge Tramble was a community-minded man of whom it was said that "he walked with equal ease with kings and commoners." He met and overcame obstacles, continuing both his judging and farming careers from a wheelchair.
Criteria and Nomination Process
The nominee must be a current front line staff of a member agency of the Nova Scotia Council for the Family.
The nominee must have distinguished him/herself in his/her work within the last three years.
Performance
Write a paragraph or two on the performance of the candidate using the following headings as guidelines. (Note: It is important to be as objective and specific as possible and to illustrate by example where possible the areas in which the candidate demonstrates outstanding performance.) Final submission to be a maximum of four pages, excluding support letters.
- Dedication and commitment to work (positive attitude, job presence, loyalty to the organization, accepts challenges and overcomes obstacles in the delivery of services, etc.)
- Professional Ethics (respect for confidentiality, relationship with clients, etc.)
- Team Player - Leadership Qualities (leader among peers, supportive, respected by colleagues, etc.)
- Support to Children and Families, the Organization, and the Community (presents positive image, promotes agency's Mission, acts in culturally competent manner, networking and how perceived in the community, program development, and program coordination, etc.)
- Efforts at continuing education (courses, seminars, conferences, upgrading of skills, current with standards and related literature)
