Criteria and Nomination Process
Letters of nomination should include the significance of the nominee's contribution to the Council and its work.
The nominee must be a current member of a Committee of the Nova Scotia Council for the Family and nominations can come from committees of the Council or Council Board representatives.
Write a paragraph or two on the performance of the candidate using the following headings as guidelines. (Note: It is important to be as objective and specific as possible and to illustrate by example where possible the areas in which the candidate demonstrates outstanding performance.) Final submission to be a maximum of four pages, excluding support letter.
Creativity and Strategic Thinking (candidate tries new things, creative but not reckless, secure in the knowledge of the work of the Committee, advocates on behalf of the Nova Scotia Council for the Family)
Team Player - Leadership Qualities (leader among peers, respected by colleagues, and significantly contributes to the work of the Council)
Imagination, Initiative, and Perseverance in Accepting Responsibilities (time associated with the Council, responsibilities while there and what has been accomplished, e.g., a proactive approach in supporting the goals and advocating on behalf of the Council)
